Portable Patio Picnic Blanket

A Portable Picnic Blanket

I'm just crazy about this free pattern, the possibilities are endless.  I took the brick road idea and ran with it.  I thought it would be fun if it really did look like bricks.  Then, the patio picnic blanket came to me.... this is what I came up with.

Necktie Rug Crazy

More and More Necktie Rugs

I have been a necktie rug making fool over the last week.  I still have enough ties to make maybe three more rugs.  These rugs are fun and simple to make and they come together in no time at all.
In this picture the one on the left is completed and the one at the top is backed and just needs to be bound.  The one on the right needs to be trimmed, backed and bound.  I have been using a duck for the backing after trying several different types of stiff interfacing.  I am using a black canvas for binding.

McCalls Quilting Magazine Debut!

The Sept./Oct. 2012 McCalls Quilting Magazine has my picture in it!

As of today, I can say that I have been featured in McCalls Quilting magazine.  This is something that I am very proud of.  I continue to learn more and more about quilting and I continue to strive for perfection with every stitch.  I'm not perfect yet; I have a long way to go but this is a testiment to my hard work so far... and some luck!

Follow the Purple Brick Road

I came across this pattern on the Northcott Fabric site.   It reminded me that I had a purple fat quarter bundle that I got from http://fatquartershop.com a few months back that would fit this pattern perfectly!  (sorry Northcott for the RK fabric choice, I just happened to have it burning a hole in my pocket so to speak)
